Objects hold histories of the places they have been and the people they have met. Personal objects, such as the bicycles in this exhibit, carry the stories of those who owned them. Stories of true crime and secrecy, villains and heroes, forged into the very being of objects. Here, two stories diverged from an item that is in everyday use for many people in the United States of America. Two Red Bicycles explores the two very different stories behind two similar bicycles in South Central Pennsylvania history.
And hopefully, the next time a red bicycle is spotted these stories will be remembered well into the future.
